IPB students won 3rd place in the Business Plan Competition

This IPB University Business School student proposed a Re-sell prototype business idea. Re-sell is a marketplace for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) based on the digital business ecosystem concept

Jakarta (ANTARA) – IPB University student Rio Kevin won third place (3) in the 2021 “Management Days Business Plan Competition” held by the Sharia Accounting Student Association some time ago.

In the competition, this IPB University Business School student submitted a prototype Re-sell business idea. Re-sell is a marketplace for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) based on digital concepts business ecosystem.

“To find out internal and external factors, we analyzed using methods Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities And Threats (SWOT),” said Rio in a written statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday.

The reason Rio proposed this idea was because he saw that the number of entrepreneurs in Indonesia was still small. Apart from that, many SMEs just move in place because they don’t know how to develop their business.

Therefore, Re-sell was formed to increase the potential value of MSMEs. Re-sell is expected to improve the prosperity of the Indonesian economy, in line with its objectives Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number eight.

To win, he must go through several stages of the competition. In the initial stage, Rio had to submit a Business Model Canvas, the semi-final stage was in the form of proposal selection and the final stage was in the form of a presentation.

“Preparations for the competition started in September 2020. I and a team of other students from IPB University had previously participated in similar competitions and workshops. The workshops helped me discuss relevant and adaptive business ideas,” he said.

He also always discusses with lecturers at IPB University as well as his mentor so that the proposed concepts can mature.

“Together with IPB University lecturers or mentors, I was given input on business ideas several times and often practiced presentations. The perspective and responses from the lecturers made my preparations more thorough,” said Rio Kevin.
